30 May 2021 Interview: JJ Burnel on Johnnie Walker’s Sound of the 70’s on BBC Radio 2

Down in the Sewer

Johnnie’s here for your Bank Holiday with more great memories of this brilliant decade.

And Stranglers bass player JJ Burnel is calling the show direct from the south of France.

As one of the original surviving members of this iconic band, he’s now gearing up for the upcoming release of new studio album Dark Matters this Autumn, and tour dates around the country to promote it. He’ll be discussing his formative years and the artists that he worked with during the Seventies, telling us which impressed him the most, and choosing a couple of curveball songs that he loves.”

Listen again on BBC iPlayer until 29th June 2021.
